Medical Certification

for pilots, air traffic controllers, skydivers, and balloon pilots in New Zealand (CAA) and Australia (CASA)

AVIATION MEDICALS

We undertake medical assessments for New Zealand & Australian Class 1, 2 & 3 Aviation Medicals.

Whether it is an initial assessment that you require or a renewal of your medical certificate, our team at Aviation Medical can assist you to navigate the various clinical and administrative requirements to get your medical certificate. For CAA and CASA medical certificates, sign up or log in to Skycert.co.nz to book your appointment with Dr Angela Dowle.

  • CAA New Zealand
New Zealand Class 1, 2 and 3 medical certificates First time applicants will need a CAA ID number. We can apply for this for you. Please send us an email with your full name, address and date of birth. All pilots and ATCs must pay the CAA application fee (Part 67) prior to their appointment: You can do this here. To book an appointment and fill in your application form: Go to www.skycert.co.nz and ‘Sign up’ if you are a first time user, or ‘Log in’ if you are returning. Follow the instructions carefully to make a booking, and fill in your application form. (Allow half an hour, if help is needed, please refer to the help videos at www.skycert.co.nz, or email info@skycert.nz)
  • CASA Australia
Australian Medical assessments For first time applicants you must apply for an ARN (Aviation Reference Number) via myCASA portal to create an account. All pilots applying for CASA medical certificate must go to myCASA portal (https://my.casa.gov.au/) to fill in their application form via MRS (Medical Records System). This should be done prior to the medical appointment.
  • SKYCERT
Helpful hints regarding Skycert.co.nz: Appointments can be booked for CAA and CASA via this website. CAA pilots can also fill in their application forms here. Use either CAA ID number or email address as your username. (two factor authentication is optional for pilots, click 'don’t ask me again’ if you do not wish to use this feature). After the security questions, the Dashboard will pop up for you to follow through the questions 1-5: In your Profile “Client of” is Angela Dowle Practice, “Member of” is your organisation(optional), and ” Registration” is NZ Civil Aviation Authority and your CAA ID. You can skip your expiry dates if you wish. When filling in your CAA application form, if “You have started a new medical with no assigned practice” pops up, please go back to “My Medicals” and select ANGELA DOWLE MEDICALS in Practice on the left “Details” box.
